is a very vigorous and free-flowering shrub,〔 growing to a height and spread of 1 × 2 m, and bears narrow terminal panicles, average size 23 × 6 cm of rich purple - violet flowers with orange eyes; the willow-like sea-green leaves are comparatively small and narrow, < 2.5 cm in width.〔
